Round 2: Applied Arts

This round will respond to a brief.

• Graphic Design (Requires laptop or tablet with software of choice) – 326b 
• Interior Design (Requires laptop or tablet with an app like Home Styler) – 326b
• Illustration (Any medium, Bring Your Own Supplies) – 326a
• Pottery (Students Bring Your Own Supplies) – 326a
• Photography (Requires digital camera or mobile phone) – 322

Schedule:

• 8:30-8:45am – Arrival
• 8:45 – Informational Meeting / Kick-off
• 9:00–10:40 — Round 1 (100 minutes)
  • 9:00–9:05 — Launch students with prompts / expectations
  • 9:05–10:35 — Work time (90 minutes)
    • Observe students in process
  • 10:35–10:45 — Statement writing + cleanup (10 minutes)
  • 10:45 — Collect work and statements for judging
• 10:45–10:55 — Break / Transition (10 minutes)
  • Reset spaces
  • Move Round 1 work to judging area
• 10:55–12:35 — Round 2 (100 minutes)
  • 10:55–11:00 — Launch students with briefs
  • 11:00–12:30 — Work time (90 minutes)
    • Observe students in process
  • 12:30–12:40 — Statement writing + cleanup (10 minutes)
  • 12:40 — Collect work and statements for judging
• 12:45- Lunch & Judging
  • Students head to lunch area
  • Judge Round 2 work by 1:15
• 1:15 – Awards Ceremony
• 1:30PM – Collect work and depart
